Flight

I'm messing around with post-processing (something with which I am totally unfamiliar). I have traditionalist qualms about the flexibility and sleight of hand these tools provide, but in the end it's just another avenue to explore. Stumbled upon this guy and a cohort when wandering SF last week. It was hard to capture, but this gap was a good 10 feet across and 10 feet off the pavement.

Devil's Gulch

Last week we had a Nopa field trip to Devil's Gulch Ranch in Marin. Here you see a pig sty (first time using that term in the literal sense) with a hill full of pinot in the background. Barely visible through the door at center frame is a pregnant sow, ready to burst.

My brother made the angel in sharp focus when he was in the 2nd grade. The following year, I had the same teacher, Mrs. Pettit, and made the other one. My angel is best appreciated in soft focus. Happy holidays.

I went down to Fort Point today and for the first time realized that the Fort is open to visitors Friday thru Sunday. I did some exploring.

Sous Vide

The contraption in the foreground is and immersion circulator, which keeps water heated to extremely precise temperatures, an integral part of the 'sous vide' cooking process. The man in the back is Richie. For those who know Richie, this picture is fittingly framed. Learn more about the man and the method.
