Burma

Demonstrators gathered outside of the Chinese consulate today to speak out against Myanmar's military junta. China is one of Myanmar's few allies and is in a unique position to pressure the Burmese government into peacefully addressing the protesters who have taken to the streets of Rangoon (Yangon) in the past week.

Newest Addition

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a picture of 'The Replacement'. We have replaced 'The Replacement' with this girl, whom, for the moment, we shall call 'The Stowaway'. I don't know why.

Weekend Recap

We saw a dead whale.

We went to the Joanne's house on the beach, where this guy was playing in the sand.

We learned to play 'kubbs', a Swedish stick-throwing game.

The kid played with his train.

My Two Favorite Guys

I'm in Santa Barbara today, visiting my brother. Tonight we saw Modest Mouse at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Awesome.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures today, so I'm cheating a little and tossing in another archived image this week. This photo was taken in Gyantse, Tibet. I was walking down an alley, on my way to visit a temple, and found this guy and a friend playing in a pile of dirt.

Tonight, Scotty and I went to see Ben Gibbard interviewed by Daniel Handler. It was a wonderful event, capped off by Ben performing a few songs (Mr. Lemony Snicket provided accordion accompaniment on a couple songs). There were some moments when I wished that I had brought a camera, but in the end, I'm glad that I was able to just soak it in without worrying about capturing moments.

Some Color

I've been shooting a good bit of black and white lately, so the time seems right to add some color.

I started working at a restaurant called Pres A Vi this past week. I have plenty to learn on the menu, so I'm taking notes.

The Bay Bridge is closed this weekend, so today I had to take the Golden Gate.

The Replacement

My brother dognapped our pooch. This girl is auditioning to be Gomez's replacement.
